A must see

Research

"Since practically every measurement of a web site's success involves its audience- hits, sales, click throughs, customer comments, customer complaints, positive community, etc. Then it makes a great deal of sense to develop a deeper understanding of your audience and use this understanding to design a site that accommodates your audience." I agree with this to an extent and it applies to the rest of the pathways. You have to understand your audience because your goal is to meet the audience's needs. How ever there is this idea that I came up with, I tell people what I want to tell them not what they want to hear because I could be wrong about what they want to hear. It helps me explore avenues and not be confined by what is contemporary. At the same time I have to understand current affairs to stay relevant. It all comes down to the audience.

Script idea

I had this script idea of using all my facebook statuses as part of dialogue. I would call the screenplay 'Status'. After reading through the statuses I decided to change it to my full name Andrew 'DJ' Mthunzi. The story will follow a radio presenter and his partner. It does not have a structured plot for now. The protagonist and his co star, partner Loveless will be able to read each other's minds, which almost follows the catch phrase, 'you was thinking it, but I got the balls to say it'.

INT. KITCHEN. DAY

FADE IN

We see Loveness washing dishes as she is listening to the radio. We hear the presenter Jay.

Single and in a relationship are just titles.
Your heart determines your true relationship status.
So quit complaining to you man why he aint got his status up.

Alumni Project

"Some nice shots and good use of people but it feels like it needs to say more and work harder for our attention. Some of the dialogue stutters a bit and really should have been rerecorded. The script should have found more examples of what people do – what information NTU requires and the benefits of membership etc.

Almost there but needs a bit more attention to detail to impress rather than just tick the boxes??"

Title sequence

For my title sequence i have considered Pink Panther 2, Euro Trip and City of God . Ideally I am looking to do a title sequence in animation. My idea for Robin Hood is Robin in the hood; Interpreted as stealing in the high density areas though the actual story was stealing from the rich to give the poor. However my story will follow an upper class young adult wanting to live in the low class areas and wanting to enlighten the people there that it is possible to get wealthy and even wealthy people have problems of their own. My character Robin Hood will have a new era hat for the head gear, hood on and baseball bat as a weapon and a dog in place of the horse.

Another way i would have done my title sequence was to have a male character to be seen walking in an urban area setting. A thief is seen coming out of a house with a radio and a sound editor is credited. A shot of the ‘Lollipop man’ directing pedestrians cross the road and the director is credited. The next shot is of a character computer hacking and the editor is credited. A meeting of a few gangstas and the leading is addressing them are in one shot and the producer is credited.

Third option was to have to see a collage of pictures of a man in Iraq on the wall. the next shot we see a man walk down the stairs. He is seen on the computer there after we see him crossing the traffic light where the director is credited. We see in the next scene the male character knock the door and a female opens the door and he explains that he is the Bailiff people who have come to reposes property thats worthy the amount the household owes on tax.

The time factor and getting characters for the roles did not allow me so i resorted in doing the titles sequence i did. I handed the one which was fairly done but ive since reworked on it and I am making it better. I will post it when its done.

Portfolio-Showreel

I want to use the green screen idea for my showreel. I want to have me bringing out these different works I have done with me presenting them. If you want to learn about after effects I recommend this site www.videocopilot.net. The two clips below have inspired my ideas. The end product had the green screen idea as part of the elements of the actual showreel. Im developing it so will be seeing the better version soon.

Send space

www.sendspace.com is a site that we could use to share files for group work to update for production. This is the site we have used for our group production for the Documentary. It is similar to the Anorld but with it you can access it from home.
